London's Afternoon tea with a theme

London hotels and restaurants are reinventing the afternoon tea tradition. In time for Mother's Day, here are some of my favourite tea spots with themes such as Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast.
Routemaster of tea
How many of us live in London and avoid the tourist attractions because of the crowds? Well, here's your chance to take in some sight seeing around London whilst sitting comfortably as you enjoy some cake and tea. The B Bakery red bus will take you around the tourist spots, such as Harrods, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben and the London Eye from Victoria Station.

A tale as old as time
This is, by far, my favourite themed tea. It will take a lot to top this one. With the upcoming release of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, starring Hermoine Granger.... (cough) I mean Emma Watson, the Town House at the Kensington Hotel is offering a special afternoon tea. It is currently fully booked until November 2017 but if you email them your details, they will let you know if there are any cancellations.

Flossing
There are two hotels that have brought Charlie and Chocolate Factory to life. The photo below is for the afternoon tea at One Aldwych. The other hotel is The Chesterfield in Mayfair. One Aldwych has nitrogen tea and candy floss, which is why I prefer their tea. But most importantly, it doesn't just look impressive, it tastes good too.

So abstract
Rosewood Hotel's afternoon tea is inspired by London's art scene, served in their exquisitely designed Mirror Room. The cakes are inspired by my favourite artists such as Banksy, Damien Hirst and Yayoi Kusama.

Fashion meets food
This tea and cake is designed with fashion in mind. The Berkeley‘s legendary fashion afternoon tea, Prêt-à-Portea is so stylish with its Moschino bags, D&G's owl dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and much more.

Wonderful
The Sanderson Hotel recreated Alice in Wonderland. The theme runs from the tea set to the menu to the cakes. They even have a mysterious "Drink Me" potion for you to try if you dare. My mother really rather enjoys afternoon tea with her daughters or her friends at this hotel. I have taken her here twice. The last time we went for tea and ended up falling out of the hotel bar after one too many cocktails and glasses of champagne. One to remember!
