Yesterday I took my son to a flower market. It's not the first time he has been to the Columbia Road Flower Market. I remember taking him when he was 2 months old and I was desperate to go out so I took my niece and Mum out for lunch in that area and we ended up at the market. They loved it! And I love this flower market. Unlike some other flower markets in England, this one is outside so you can enjoy the sun whilst looking for a bargain.

I have written a post about a few places that you can take your mother for some afternoon tea. But I then thought about what you could do whilst waiting for your afternoon tea appointment... the obvious choice - SHOPPING! The only thing better than shopping is someone else taking you shopping. So with that said, I have selected a few designer samples around London town over the weekend and next week which allow you to get some of the best British merchandise at the lowest rate, including Liberty London's first sample sale. This is not to be missed. It really doesn't get better than this.
London hotels and restaurants are reinventing the afternoon tea tradition. In time for Mother's Day, here are some of my favourite tea spots with themes such as Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast.
